Obituary of Charmion Frances Dennys

Charmion Frances Dennys passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on Monday, April 13, 2026 in Port Hope, Ontario, the home she had cherished for 67 years. Born in Toronto Ontario to William and Dorthy Chester, Charmion was their second daughter.  In December 1945, she married her soulmate, John Dennys, a teacher at Trinity College School, and the couple soon settled in Port Hope to raise their three daughters.

A dedicated champion of the arts in their community, Charmion’s creative spirit was beautifully reflected in her own home. She was exceptionally skilled at sewing, interior decorating and gardening.  Music was a cornerstone of her life with John – a love they shared with their daughters through family singing, dancing and active involvement in Trinity College School musicals.

Charmion so enjoyed her travels with her dear friend Pat.

Charmion leaves behind her daughters Pamela (Martin) Klipper of Red Deer, Alberta; Christina (Don) Rebus of Camrose, Alberta; and Nicola (Gord Cole) Dennys of Perry Sound, Ontario.  She is also survived by her nephew, Michael Covey; her grandchildren, Daria, Philip, Charmion, Matthew, Keira, and Miranda; and her great-grandchildren, Emily, Eliah, Linden, Sophia, Elly, and Natalie.  Charmion was predeceased by her sister, Yvonne Covey and her brother, John Chester.

Her family deeply appreciates the loving care the Charm received over the last three years, with special acknowledgement to Leony and Marietta.
