Obituary of Charles Roland Smith

Smith, Charles Roland Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Thursday, January 14, 2010. Charlie Smith, cherished husband and best friend of Joan (nee Austin), beloved dad of David (Tracy), Steven (Denene) and Cindy Wood (Steven), loving grandpa of Cristan (Steven), Jodi (Lee), Jessica, Maranda, Andrew, Dylan, Brandon, Curtis, Josh and Stephanie and dear great-grandpa of Tyson, Elizabeth, Brittany and Christopher. Brother of Vern (Gladys), Betty O?Heir (Gord) and Tedd (Barb) and the late Bill, Oscar, Elmer and Fred. Brother-in-law of Jeannie, Marilyn, Kathy, Betty, Lynn, Elaine, Betty, Ruth and Jean. Remembered by many as the courteous, friendly owner/driver of Smith Bros. Taxi. Friends will be received at the Allison Funeral Home, 103 Mill Street North, Port Hope on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service Monday 11 am. Interment, Port Hope Union Cemetery. Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Allison Funeral Home Port Hope ON DIRECTIONS: FROM HWY 401 Exit at County Rd. 28, Ontario St. (exit 464). Follow Ontario St. south into Port Hope. The funeral home is located at the juncture of Ontario St., Young St. and Mill St. N. on the east (left) side of Mill St. N. The parking lot (behind the building) can be accessed either from Young St. or Mill St. N.

Port Hope Union Cemetery Port Hope ON DIRECTIONS: FROM HWY 401 Exit at County Rd. 2, Toronto Rd. (exit 461). Follow Toronto Rd. south into Port Hope. The cemetery is located just past Jocelyn St./Marsh Rd. on the west (right) side of the road.

St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Hall Port Hope ON DIRECTIONS: FROM HWY 401 eastbound Exit at County Rd. 2, Toronto Rd. (exit 461). Follow Toronto Rd. south into Port Hope to Ridout St. Turn left on Ridout St. Follow Ridout St. east (it becomes Walton St.) The church is located just west of the business section of town on the south (right) side of the street. FROM HWY 401 westbound Exit at County Rd. 28, Ontario St. (exit 464). Follow County Rd. 28 south into Port Hope. At the "Y" veer to the left and contine south to Walton St. Turn right on Walton St. Follow Walton St. west through the business section of the town. The church is located on the south (left) side of the street.
