DOBSON, Jeanne Elizabeth (nee Scott) Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Port Hope Extendicare. Jeanne was in her 80th year. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years, Art. Mother to Janet Humber and husband Derrick of Camborne, Hugh Dobson and wife Kim of Lakefield and loving grandmother to Josh, Laura and Jake Humber, Jess and Riley Dobson. Jeanne spent the better part of her life in the service of the Girl Guides of Canada, receiving a Governor General's Commemorative Medal for her contributions. Upon retiring to Peterborough in 1990, she and Art spent many hours volunteering at Hutchison House. Jeanne also loved to spend time at the cottage on Kasshabog Lake, paddling her cedar strip Lakefield canoe. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Cold Springs United Church, 3903 Burnham St. (County Rd 18, Hamilton Twp., north of Cobourg, ON). In memory of Jeanne, donations to Girl Guides of Canada or Hutchison House of Peterborough, would be appreciated by the family.
