Growing up being Shirley and Jim was an absolute win for us as kids! They always had an “open fence” policy, and greeted us with a smile when we came over to use the pool and just hang out.
Jim taught us all the pool tricks, while Shirley was on the deck ready to visit when a break was needed.
The same kindness was extended to our kids. Christmas cards were always exchanged, she always popped over with trinkets for the kids, and she was just a warm and friendly face to our whole family.
We were lucky, and she will definitely be missed.
