We are so blessed for having known Paul. He was a sweet & generous man; generous with sharing his love of poetry, as Bryan mentioned; generous with sharing his love of the Metis history; generous with donating some of his flea market finds, when we held our annual Christmas celebration with the folks at the Soup Kitchen. I was blessed to be invited to his 80th birthday lunch & meet some of his family there. We shared visits & hugs on several occasions & I will miss his smile.
May God comfort his family during this time & may He stir up memories of Paul that will delight your souls.
Rest in God's arms, Paul.

Dear Elcombe Family,
Paul was a true gentleman with a huge heart! I met Paul and Doreen at the Salvation Army lunches. He was blessed with great manners and always greeted people with his big, friendly smile. He was our resident poet. Paul would recite poems by heart that were a page long! I looked forward to his special poems that he had memorized. He would often share his math brain teasers with me, also. He always stumped me! When Paul found out that I worked as a Santa at the mall, he gave me his original suit for free. The only stipulation was that when I was finished with it, I would pass it along to someone else. Paul also made me an authentic leather wallet. I still use it to this day! He was one of a kind! It was an honour and a pleasure to call Paul a friend! Paul was a very kind and giving man whose friendship I will treasure forever!

My husband and I knew Paul and Marian when he was the Bartender at the Grafton Legion. I also worked with Paul at the Legion. He was a genuine gentleman and friend to all those who knew him. May he Rest In Peace. At the going down of the sun we will remember them.

I met Paul when I used to go to Victoria in the morning. He was always a gentleman who was full of news and interesting stories. He found out it was my birthday a few years ago and he gave me a handmade wallet. I still have it and will treasure it always.
