Obituary of Jean May Poynton

Jean May Poynton, 96, passed away peacefully in Port Hope, Ontario, on May 11, 2022. Jean will be remembered with love by her husband James, her daughter Barbara Neck, and her grandson John Perry. Jean is predeceased by her daughter Jo Anne (Eddie Wessbecher), and her son Jimmy. Jean lived a full life. During the war years, she helped to build Lancaster bombers at Downsview. Jean and Jim spent many happy years living and working in the Turks and Caicos Islands among a community of friends. Upon return to Canada, they enjoyed life in the rolling countryside north of Brighton. Jean and Jim travelled extensively. They crossed the Rio Grande, explored the catacombs in Rome, and sailed around both the Horn and the Cape of Good Hope. Thank you to all of those who supported Jean, in particular, Dr. Michael Bayer. Jean will be deeply missed by family, her son-in-law Eddie, sister-in-law Sherry, favourite nephew Farley, Peggy, Charles, Brenna, and Alana. Cremation took place on May 13, 2022.
