Dear Joan;
Sending our Condolences, Sadden for the news of Pete's passing.
I have many memories of you and Pete coming to our farm for your yearly bushel of Spanish Onions. Pete was a very positive and Cheerful man.
I noted that he was the last to pass of that generation of the Hills Family. I knew his sister's Marjorie (Re Figure Skating) and Margret (Re Bowling) and Pete as a Hockey Coach.
May he Rest in Peace.

To Joan and all the family, I extend my deepest sympathy. Some of my best memories of childhood on Croft Street were the rides with Pete and the neighbourhood kids in the VW, singing at the top of our lungs. “When the red red robin comes bob bob bobbin along …” and “You are my sunshine …” just two of my favourites. Such a great guy!!

Very sorry to hear of Peter's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joan and family at this time. Marjorie, the girls and I have many fond memories of Peter. Bowling with the Knights and the parish picnics at the Brady farm are among them. Fondly referred to as "Farmer" we've shared many laughs. It was always a highlight for the girls at Mass to have a chat with Peter and listen to his booming voice sing out the hymns and kibitzing with the Priest. Marj was always so appreciative of Peter thinking of her when buying a pair of gloves and giving her the right hand glove that he didn't use. He was a real treasure. Rest in peace Farmer.

Mrs. Hills and family,
My condolences to you all. Mr. Hills was a special person to many in different ways. I remember my first meeting with Mr. Hills playing baseball for him and Mr. ( Tom ) Micks with the Port Hope Ready-Mix tykes. He taught us all more than just baseball as we progressed up the baseball chain over the years. A true gentleman. Rest In Peace Mr. Hills.

Pete, I will forever miss you and will always have you in my heart. For those that don’t know, Pete helped raised me from the age of 8, after a very traumatic moment in my life.
Pete may not have been my father on paper, but he certainly gets the title from me. Together, with his incredibly kind wife, Joan, had took me in and showed me a world of kindness, structure, and unconditional love. They gave me a better quality of life and introduced me to a world I wouldn’t have been able to experience without them.
You are an incredible human being and these last 24 hours have flooded back memories that bring me to tears. I’ve done my best with my own daughter, Mackenzie, who’s now 16 and I hope I can show her the amount of love you had for me.
I will miss you and I thank you and your incredible family for allowing me to be part of your lives. And to Joan, my personal heart felt condolences to you, a second Mother in my life, for your loss.
I love you both, so very much.

My dear Joan, sadden me to hear of pasting of Peter. So many fond memories when I think of Our Lady of Mercy with you and Peter.
He and I would fight for the back pew, inorder to be the first to welcome any parishioner. Or see who voice could be the loudest.
I hope I can clear my calendar to be able to attend mass. You two ( and dear Nan) have always been in my prayer.
God peace be with you. He is/ was a good man
