Such a lovely man with a kind heart and a belly full of laughter......lots of good memories going to the Watson's cottage, playing rummoli and learning how to water ski.....I remember when George and my dad decided to try and scare us kids in the tent by scampering around outside at night. I know my parents cherished their friendship with Marg and George. My condolences to Shelley, David and Debbie and their families for your loss (and ours).

A Long Life Well Lived; George was a very Jovial, Kind man. Who enjoyed lots of chuckles. Be it in the Drug Store or during his retirement years. Always enjoyed him when he would come to the farm to pick up his Strawberries to make his yearly Jam. Sending our Condolences and Sympathy to all his Family.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to Debbie, David and Shelley. Your Dad was a part of my childhood as a family friend, my youth as my first boss, and my adult life as the always friendly gardener toiling away at the back of the Bruton Street house. To me George was the epitome of class and decorum mixed with small town sensibility. I think it's his sense of humour and ever-present smile that most of us lucky enough to know him will miss the most. I wish you all peace, and fond memories of a wonderful man.

Our sympathy for the loss of your Dad. He was very well-respected in our community. He was a Port Hope institution.
Who of us doesn’t remember a trip into Watson’s with their Mom or Dad as a youngster? With pride, I jokingly tell my friends Mr Watson must have created his famous poison ivy cream just for me as every year I got poison ivy worse than the year before.

So sorry to hear about George.
I always remember him with a cheerful hello when popping in at the drug store (which we always did, when we were downtown) and many a time, on the way home from Dr. Hawkins, we'd stop in at the Watson home, sometimes just for a while, others getting a snack and staying to "hang out". The door was always open and there was always a warm welcome. Such good memories.
My condolences to you Debbie, David and Shelley and your families. So sorry for your loss.

We will miss our times with George. He was full of great stories of the shenanigans the ‘senate’ members would get up to around town!! They all lived life to the fullest and embraced every wonderful day. George was such a gentle, caring soul and we were blessed to have had the pleasure to spend so much time with him.

Dear Watson Family
For so many years Watson's Drug Store truly deserved pride of place at the main corner of Walton and Ontario Streets. The service was exemplary and David too continued to maintain the stellar reputation that was earned by such hard work and dedication.Mr Watson was a member of the school board and it was he who offered me my first job from Teachers College and I taught in Port Hope for virtually my entire career. So often he would take time to ask how things were going at school...evidence of the interest he took in the community he served so well and so long. .I remember him for his kindness, his good humour and his many contributions to Port Hope over his long career.Thank You!!!!
