Obituary of John Graham Clancy
CLANCY, John Graham
January 28, 1942 – August 11, 2022
John passed away peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital after battling various health issues. A retired millwright/welder, he was an avid fisherman, boater and hunter and he enjoyed a good laugh with like-minded humorists.
He is survived by the love of his life, Mary (nee Lawrence), his wife of 53 years. He also leaves behind his brother Ian, sister-in-law Vicki Kent (Paul) and brother-in-law Bruce Lawrence (Melinda).
A huge thanks to Dr. Kate Everdell for all her efforts to let John have his way and die at home but it wasn't in the cards. Thanks, as well, to staff at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, to the outstanding team of VONs who treated John at home and to Vicki, always that safe port in an emotional storm. Also, a heartfelt thanks to dear Dave and Nicole Beckett for their unconditional kindness and support throughout the years, especially during John's last few days.
Clancy's ship has pulled up anchor and sailed away for the last time. Godspeed John now on that final journey to a better place.
As per John's wishes, cremation has taken place with no funeral and a private Bon Voyage celebration of life will be set at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of choice.
Arrangements by Allison Funeral Home.
