Obituary of William Stephen McBride
William Stephen McBride
May 13, 1964 – January 29, 2024
Passed away at Northumberland Hills Hospital after a brief illness, peacefully surrounded by the spirit of love and the music of his favorite Pink Floyd song "Wish You Were Here."
Stevie was the loving and devoted son of the late Harold and Helen McBride. Stevie and his mom were partners in life after his dad passed away, until his mom's passing, September 2023. He loved and missed her with immense grief.
Stevie was an adored and best buddy to his brother Grant (Marlene). He was dearly loved brother of Linda Simpson (Byron) and the late Debra Hall (John).
Stevie will be so missed and remembered as a friend and admired uncle of Luc and the late Geoffrey McBride. He will be remembered fondly by nephews Stephen Hall and Matthew (Mandy) Hall.
Stevie was a great uncle to Cassidy and Shane and his 'sweetie pie" Evie McBride, who he enjoyed and loved spending time with when they could. He will also be remembered by Camille and Logan Hall.
Stevie will be remembered by many friends and family and times in the garage listening to tunes. The memories of his best friend the late David MacKenzie will always bring a smile.
Stevie will be remembered for his love of fishing, hunting, snowmobiling which he did with his brother Grant and their many buddies. And we can never forget the huge birthday parties he had for his mom. There are so many memories that are cherished and precious. His love for music, his great knowledge of lyrics and bands. Stevie was also a longtime fan of the Montreal Canadians.
Stevie requested that there be no service or fan-fare. Just remember him for who he was for each person in their own way, as that's the way he lived his life, his own way. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada or charity of choice.
