We are sorry to hear of your passing. We are going to miss the conversations at the bbqs we use to have in the backyards. Smoking joints and having good laughs. We will miss seeing you and your chickens each year when we stop in for a visit on the way to the Port Hope fair. We are all going to miss you.

All I want to say is, I’m sorry for your loss Matthew, Phillip and Luke All I want to say is, anytime you need to talk to somebody. I’m here to talk to your mom Mark and I had her time and there was some good times and then there was some bad times but I’ll always remember the good times and one of them is he gave me two boys I am thankful for my children. Rest in peace Mark. I remember when we used to go to the horse track and we would bet on the horses. It was a good time that I had when I was married to Marc we did have some great times together but in a marriage there’s always good and there’s always bad but sometimes things just don’t work out and that’s what happened to us, we didn’t work out but I love my boys. I feel sad for my boys. I am so sorry for your loss. I love you boys very much.

My father meant the world to me, and my heart is broken now that he is gone. I have so many fond memories of him like, the hundreds of chess games we played (I never won a single game), taking me to baseball games growing up always cheering me on in the stands, and the many fishing trips. We once stayed up 24 hours together to do an engine swap on his truck so he could finish some work for a customer the next day. He taught me so much and he always gave me the very best he could because all he wanted was for me to be successful no matter what I did.
He had a special connection with animals that I simply can't explain, they didn't fear him. Time and time again squirrels, chipmunks, chickens and other animals would crawl all over him (as you can see in the picture) and eat out of his hands. He loved his work and specialized in everything trees.
If you knew my dad you probably know that above all else he loved to talk, you could literally put the phone down and he would talk for over an hour not needing your input. He loved talking about the locally community, politics, the environment, sports, plants/trees, and all the interesting people he met during his short time on this earth. If he met you and talked to you trust me you left an impression on him and he would never forget people who treated him with respect.
He was my number one fan in everything I did, and he is my hero for making me the man I am today. Rest in peace, old man I will miss you always.

I am glad I had the opportunity to be a part of this man's life. He was always eager to have good conversation or a good laugh. He loved all things living: his chicken, the spiders, the trees and most of all his family. Wish you were still here to watch your grand daughter grow the same as you watched your oak tree grow. The world is a little quieter now that you are gone, but I'm am sure we will hear your words when the wind blows threw the leaves.
Miss you, love you.

My dad was a great man. I will always remember the drives we took, playing catch, fishing, playing chess, planting trees and our in depth conversations about life. My dad taught me many useful things when I was young that I am grateful to use today. I will miss seeing him evey weekend and helping him care for his chickens, which he loved. I wish we had more time together, but I am thankful for the relationship we had. I love you Dad and I miss you.
Your son, Philip

I had the pleasure of meeting Evelyn's grandfather Mark twice before his passing. He was opinionated, talkative, and knew a whole lot about plants and trees. After Christmas we were able to bring Mark to our place where he whooped my butt in chess and was able to identify all our trees around the property and plants in the house.
I know Matt is the amazing man and father he is today because of his father Mark. I wish I could thank him for raising such an incredible man.
