My Grandma was a creative person and an artist at heart, and she taught me how to see the world through beautiful eyes. She taught me how to look at the trees, and encouraged me to observe how the lake changes colours every day. We watched as clouds formed in the sky near and far. She changed how and what I see in the world, pointed out all the joyful things, and then showed me how the lines of life can be recreated on a canvas.
In addition to being my Grandmother, she was a best friend. As she taught me art, she always showed unconditional love. I will pass down her teachings to little Harley, her Great Grand Daughter, who she adored. She will continue to inspire me to always live in my element as an artist, wife, mother, aunt, friend, and one day a grandmother and great-grandmother myself. I know Harley will feel her love through me and the lessons and intergenerational strength she leaves behind. One day, her artwork will inspire Harley and possibly her children to create and see beauty in the ways she taught me.
I find comfort in knowing she is reunited with my Dad, Grandpa, her sisters and brothers, Mother and Father.

Joan was a remarkable person who radiated happiness, positivity, and strength. I will always remember how she could read my emotions with just a glance, offering comfort and support without saying a word. Her beautiful soul touched everyone she met, and her legacy will live on through her inspiring paintings and the joy she spread in our lives.
While I will miss her dearly, I take solace in knowing she is with God now. I will always cherish the memories and the light she brought into the world.

It's hard to say goodbye to someone as special as our aunt. She was a talented artist, well-known in her community, and her work reflected her creativity and dedication. Her art will be remembered by many who admired the way she captured the world around her.
Beyond her art, she also had a passion for curling. Whether on the ice with her teammates or enjoying the camaraderie of the game, curling was an important part of her life. It was a way she stayed connected with friends and her community.
We will miss taking her shopping and going for lunch and spending time reminiscing about the good ole days. Until we meet again Aunt Joan! Vicki and Liz
