Obituary of Dorothy Lent

With broken hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our sweet, gentle Mom on January 2^nd, 2025, in her 93^rd year. Dorothy was the beloved wife and best friend of our late father, Owen, for 68 years. As a kind, patient, and devoted mother, she was cherished by Janice (Dave McGinn), Brian (Deb), Donna (David Parker), Douglas (Karen), and David (Margaret). Dorothy was Grandma and Babba to 14, and great-grandmother to 18. She will be sadly missed by her dear friend and sister-in-law Elaine Simpson, and her many friends in Port Hope. Our entire family extends sincere thanks to the staff of the Golden Plough Lodge for their tender care throughout Mom’s stay there.

A family interment for Mom and our father will take place at Union Cemetery in Port Hope in the spring. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations to the Northumberland Humane Society in her name and memory. And, in commemoration of our wonderful lady, please share a hug with your loved ones.
