Jurchison, Gilbert Steven (Gil) Passed away suddenly at home on Sunday August 28, 2011. Gil Jurchison beloved son of the late Janet and Steven Jurchison. Loving husband of Rose Marie for 37 years. Father of Cynthia (Shig) and Melissa (Tyson). Doting grandfather of Ava and Luca. Brother of Norman and Carol Jurchison and Patti Hainer and the late Lloyd, Bruce and Johnnie Jurchison. Gil was born in Vancouver B.C., grew up in Toronto and received his BSc in Metallurgical Engineering from U of T. He started his career in Port Hope for Eldorado Nuclear (Cameco) in 1973 and was currently holding position of Senior Production Engineer at the time of his death. Gil donated many years volunteering as a member of the Lions Club of Port Hope. His hobbies included golfing, reading history books and searching for waterfalls with Rosie. He spent many hours in his garden oasis and pond which he created. Friends will be received at the Allison Funeral Home, 103 Mill Street North, Port Hope, Wednesday 7-9 pm.
