Grace Tranmer

Obituary of Grace Lois Tranmer

GRACE LOIS TRANMER Dear daughter of Harry and Marion Nellist (Millage) passed away, at peace, on Wednesday, January 16th, 2013 after 14 years of dealing with pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, leukemia and acute leukemia. She loved and was deeply loved by her childhood sweetheart, companion, best friend and husband Bill and her boys Gary and Bruce and their wives Monica and Sandy, Joan and by her grandchildren Jennifer (Scott), Michael (Rebecca), Jane, Alexandra Grace and Andrew and her great grandchildren, Isla Grace and Madeleine (who she saw and held as true blessings.) She loved her two wonderful sisters Joyce and Glenna. She enjoyed the great companionship and love of, and for, her friends Margaret, Lois, Betty and Ede. Mom was a proud graduate of Havergal and earned her nursing degree. But her goal in life was to raise her boys well - a goal she shared with Bill. They were proud of their result. She will be remembered by all, every moment of every day for all of time - just as she, and we, remember her treasured Bill, Dad. Now they are united again in peace. We wish to thank the staff and Dr. Moorsom of the Palliative Care Unit of Northumberland Hills Hospital. Their gentle care and facility were expert, kind and generous. We also thank the Cancer Unit of the Princess Margaret Hospital and Dr. Minden who saw her through her 85th and ½ birthday. St. John's Anglican Church in Port Hope will host a Celebration of our Mother's life on Monday, January 21st, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A one hour visitation at the Church will precede the service. In lieu of flowers our Mother wished that consideration be given to donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital, Cancer Unit, the Palliative Care Unit at Northumberland Hills Hospital and St. John's Anglican Church. Condolences may be expressed through www.allisonfuneralhome.com and may God bless you and your families.
