Obituary of Howard Clifford Brooks
It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the passing of HOWARD CLIFFORD BROOKS on July 4th, 2023.
Cliff was born on January 22nd, 1946 in Madoc, Ontario. The first born of eight children to Aileen and Howard Brooks.
Beloved husband to Norma (Roy) Brooks. Dedicated father to James (Paula) of Vancouver, BC and Jennifer (Mark) McMurtry of Roseneath Landing, ON.
Lovingly remembered by his three grandsons Benjamin, Samuel and Matthew.
Brother to Frank (late Ann), Bob (Liz), Joe (Betty), Sue (Bob), Marilyn, Rick (Elizabeth). Pre-deceased by Ann and Barbara Brooks.
Will be remembered by sisters-in-law Barbara Binch (Ron), Joan McTaggart (Dale) Lorna Deline and brother-in-law Andy Roy (Gisele).
Cliff began his working career in1966 at Canadian General Electric in Peterborough, ON as an Electrical Test Technician. He spent 4 years completing his apprenticeship before switching his path to the new and exciting Digital Technology Era. He became a Computer Programmer and taught Programming at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Peterborough. He spent over 35 years working in Ottawa and Belleville for Nortel Networks and later for Celestica, Toronto. He enjoyed his IT career and was a dedicated employee. He worked tirelessly on many weekends; in addition to completing many building projects at home. His career afforded him the opportunity to travel through-out Canada, the US and abroad.
Cliff loved to play golf and in his early retirement years he enjoyed teaching golf to children at Roxborough Golf Course, now known as Northumberland Valley, Cobourg. He once exclaimed "This is the Best Job EVER!

Funeral mass for Cliff will be held at the Church of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 155 Walton Street, Port Hope, Friday July 14th at 11 am.
Reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1 Elias Street, Port Hope.
Private interment will be in Actinolite Cemetery at a later date .
